Message	in this case, one could argue 3" is more efficient than the 2.5" across the rpm band, so there will be gains across the entire power band, and i guess as you said more noticeable at the top end. so, one could weigh the difference in price (~$140 between downpipe/test pipe combo) and extra weight (minimal) versus a vast increase in efficiency.
